Supporting Rural and Remote Clients
Yes – counselling is absolutely available for clients living in rural or remote areas. I offer flexible Telehealth options, including phone sessions, video calls via Microsoft Teams, and secure chat messaging. This means you can access support from the comfort and privacy of your own space—no matter where you're located.
I understand that life in regional and remote communities can come with unique challenges, including limited access to services and varying schedules. That’s why I now offer greater flexibility with appointment times. Simply send me an email or SMS, and we can find a time that works best for you.
How Do Telehealth, Microsoft Teams & Chat Messaging Sessions Work?
At CQ Counselling, I offer flexible online support options so you can access care in a way that feels comfortable and convenient for you. Here’s a quick overview of how each option works:
📞 Telehealth (Phone Counselling)
Simple and accessible, phone counselling allows you to talk one-on-one in a private and supportive space—no video required. How it works:
At the time of your appointment, I’ll call you on your preferred number.
You don’t need any apps or special technology—just a phone and a quiet place to talk.
Great for those who prefer not to be on camera or have limited internet access.
💻 Microsoft Teams (Video Counselling)
Video counselling provides a face-to-face experience from the comfort of your home. How it works:
You'll receive a private link to join the session via Microsoft Teams—no account needed.
Just click the link at your appointment time from a phone, tablet, or computer.
It’s a secure, encrypted platform that protects your privacy.
Ideal if you value visual connection during your sessions.
💬 Chat Messaging Counselling
This option offers support through live, text-based messaging during your scheduled session. How it works:
You’ll log in to a secure platform at the agreed time and engage in real-time written conversation.
It’s fully confidential and can be especially helpful if you find it easier to express yourself in writing or prefer a more flexible pace.
Suitable for those with busy households, anxiety around speaking aloud, or sensory sensitivities.
What Can I Expect in My First Counselling Session?
Starting counselling can feel like a big step—so it's completely normal to feel a little uncertain or nervous. My goal is to make your first session as comfortable, supportive, and welcoming as possible.
Here’s what you can expect:
A Gentle Introduction
Your first session is about getting to know each other. We'll begin by talking through what brings you to counselling, what you’d like support with, and what you're hoping to get out of the process. There's no pressure to dive into anything too heavy straight away—we’ll go at your pace.
Creating a Safe Space
I’ll explain how counselling works, including confidentiality, privacy, and what you can expect from me as your counsellor. You’re encouraged to ask any questions—this is your space, and you deserve to feel informed and in control.
Open, Judgment-Free Conversation
This session is a chance for you to talk about what’s been going on, in your own words. There’s no “right” way to tell your story, and you won’t be rushed. Whether you want to talk a little or a lot, I’ll be there to listen and support you.
Planning Next Steps
Toward the end of the session, we’ll talk about what ongoing support might look like. You can let me know what feels helpful, and together we’ll shape a plan that suits your goals, preferences, and availability.
Your Experience, Your Choice
Whether we continue working together or you’re just exploring your options, there’s no obligation. The first session is a starting point—and you’re in charge of where it goes from here.
Counselling is a space for healing, growth, and support. My role is to walk beside you, wherever you are on your journey.
